Kerry Bishop Ray Browne, Ireland, has apologised for Father Seán Sheehy because he proclaimed the Catholic doctrine at last Sunday's Mass in Listowel (video below). Sheehy noticed that no one talks about sin anymore although it is rampant. He spoke about abortion and handing out condoms to teenagers to promote promiscuity. “We see it in this lunacy of transgenderism, the sinfulness of sex between two men or two women. That is sinful. That is mortal sin. People don't seem to realise it [...]. We need to listen to God about it, because if we don't - then there is no hope for those people,” he said. He explained that “sin is destructive, is detrimental and will lead us to hell.” Sheehy also expressed the pious belief that heaven is "full" of converted sinners and concluded that everyone will find out on the day of death that this is not invented by him but what God is saying. Bishop David Zubik is establishing St. Benedict the Moor Church in Pittsburgh as a personal parish for Blacks – however, “anyone” who wants to be part of the parish is welcome. For Zubik, the fact that the church stands on the hill that overlooks the city, has to be a constant reminder of “how important Black Catholics are to us” – as if somebody had doubted about this. Zubik “felt” a desire of the blacks to have their “unique spiritual and cultural needs met.” He also wants “to raise awareness of the need to walk with our Black sisters and brothers” – while a parish is about walking with Christ. The decision was taken in February, but the diocese used the George Floyd hysteria to launch a publicity stunt. Already the 1960s, four predominantly black parishes were merged at St. Benedict's. Armenian leaders from Nagorno-Karabakh have criticized the Vatican for remaining silent about the destruction of Armenian Christian heritage and the forced displacement of Armenians after Azerbaijan's takeover of the region in 2023. Beglaryan Artak, former human rights ombudsman of Artsakh, told the Substack.com-Account The Pillar (June 26) that the Vatican has failed to defend Armenian churches and monuments. He argued that Azerbaijan has successfully influenced the Holy See to avoid speaking out. He added many Armenians feel abandoned by the Church - although the Armenians split from the Church after the Council of Chalcedon (451). The criticism targets the Vatican's close relationship with Azerbaijan. U.S. born Jesuit Thomas Reese asked at the Amazon Synod’s press conference (October 15) how an "indigenous Eucharist" would "look different." Spanish born Moyobamba Bishop Rafael Escudero López-Brea, Peru, answered that it would contain some symbols, rituals or ornaments that do not have an impact on what is "essential" of the Eucharist. Italian born Pando Bishop Eugenio Coter, Bolivia, announced that there will likely be an effort to give an "Amazonian face" to the liturgy, although the natives need the Church only as a relief organisation, for their religious needs they go to the Evangelicals. As an example he spoke about using an alternative to incense, which is de facto abolished in the Novus Ordo.
